CA-3-D004418001 2026-06-15T06:32:38 This project is part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), funded by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. The IYIP is designed to offer Canadian post-secondary graduates the opportunity to gain professional experience in international development. The Carrefour de solidarité internationale sends 112 interns to four countries as part of the Professional Internships project. A significant proportion of internships aim to promote democracy and gender equality. The other internships seek to support eco-friendly economic development and food security. Results achieved as of March 2023 include: (1) 97 young Canadians have completed international development internships in five countries, including Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Senegal. Of these, 16 interns participated virtually; and (2) 98 young Canadian interns took part in pre-departure training, field activities in international development and various activities to help them enter the Canadian job market or pursue their studies.
