With CIDA support, the United Nations Department of Safety Security's 2013 emergency operations in Syria is providing safety and security for all United Nations staff to enable safe and effective programme delivery of humanitarian assistance. Project activities include: deployment of additional international security officers to Syria; coordination and liaison with the authorities on staff and security issues; and, procurement of armoured vehicles.
