Project activities include: (1) enhancing capacities of local Government to develop spatial planning policies; (2) improving watershed functions and water management in 6 landscapes, developing provincial restoration policies and programs, and monitoring adherence to land-use plans; and (3) enhancing farmers’ capacities to increase productivity, avoid deforestation, be more resilient to climate shocks, as well as facilitating their access to finance and markets by engaging private sector partners. Also reduced emission from Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF); (2) improved landscape-level management by land managers and land users for better ecosystem health and services that meet different needs of women and men in priority landscapes within the selected provinces; and (3) enhanced climate-resilient livelihoods and food security for poor and vulnerable communities, particularly women. Results achieved as of September 2025 include: (1) improved farming and business practices for 25,327 farming households (82,815 individuals), making the farmers more resilient to climate impacts; (2) established and trained 103 agroforestry-based enterprises (52% women-led) on developing business plans; (3) completed green growth road maps in South Sumatra, South Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara based on months of multi-stakeholders’ consultations and evidence collected by the project. These roadmaps are mainstreamed into the provinces’ Long-term Development Plan, ensuring a 20-year commitment towards climate change mitigation and adaptation; (4) improved strategic environment assessment for the 3 provinces; (5) developed a forest management plan in Lalan Mendis (South Sumatra) for 2024 to 2029 and prepared watershed management plans in Benain and Noelmina (East Nusa Tenggara) to reduce flooding and drought risks; (6) developed an integrated hydrology database for East Nusa Tenggara as a basis for designing future drought-management scenarios; (7) launched the WikiPangan, an information-sharing platform and multistakeholder forum for food security and nutrition; and (8) launched an information platform for South Sulawesi to strengthen the province’s capacity for evidence-based planning for green growth.
