UNRWA uses these funds, along with other donors’ funding, to achieve its mandate of provision of basic education, health, and social safety net services to over 5 million vulnerable Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon, who are among the poorest and most vulnerable. Results achieved as of 2023: UNRWA provided 7,869,919 primary health care consultations to 2,053,032 patients, education to 544,710 children during the 2021/22 academic year, social safety net (SSN) assistance, including cash and food, to 325,180 persons, Technical and Vocational Education and Training to 7,930 youth and microfinance loans to 32,517 clients. Protection services were extended across all fields of Agency operation, emphasizing advocacy, mainstreaming protection standards in and through service delivery and providing psychosocial support and case management services to 4,291 refugees who faced critical protection risks.
