Description and results

Description

This project provides technical assistance, monitoring and evaluation services, and communications services in the following sectors: governance, health, private sector development and education. CIDA collaborates with the Government of Mozambique and other donors to identify, manage and effectively implement technical assistance as necessary. Some of these needs include: gender-sensitive and environmentally-conscious strategic planning; monitoring and evaluation; evidence-based policy development; strengthened accountability structures, including procurement and audit; gender budgeting; strengthened intergovernmental linkages; budget consultations; and communications.

Results achieved

Results as of November, 2011 include: 1) technical assistance to MIREM (Mozambican Ministry of Mineral Resources) for the preparation of a national policy on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the mining oil and gas sectors; 2) the support of an HIV/AIDS advisor who assisted in the development of CIDA programming, monitoring and delivering on results; and 3) the support of an education advisor who provided services to both CIDA and to MINED (Mozambican Ministry of Education) in support of the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Education and Culture, the budgetary planning, and the management and implementation of the FASE project in Mozambique.
