Results achieved as of March 2023 include: (1) increased usage of renewable energy and energy efficiency (REEE) solutions in Ajloun and Deir Alla, which resulted in the cumulative reduction of 11,134 tons of equivalent CO2 emissions, surpassing the target of 6,247 tons (2) conducted REEE awareness-raising activities, reaching 103,000 people, including more than 24,000 school children; (3) installed 1,515 solar panels, 1,711 solar water heaters and 24,523 LED lights, increasing the disposable income of over 8,100 households who realized cost savings and installed two solar farms of a capacity of 950 kWAC; (4) installed REEE systems in six schools, five health clinics, four forest ranger towers, and two archeological locations reducing their electricity bill by an average of 73%; (5) improved the knowledge and skills of 31 community-based organizations to design, implement and monitor a sustainable revolving fund for the installation of REEE equipment in households; (6) helped 315 beneficiaries (191 men and 124 women) to find employment opportunities or become self-employed by enhancing their knowledge and skills to better suit the needs of the REEE sector, establishing linkages with employers, arranging interviews and job fairs, and creating internship opportunities; and (7) developed five governance-related reforms and procedures to enhance the enabling environment of the renewable energy sector in Jordan, in cooperation with the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission.
