Description

The Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) and the Government of Ethiopia co-hosted a 4-day conference in November 2011 on scaling up community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM). The goal of the meeting was to promote knowledge sharing between senior government officials from countries across Africa and Asia on the enabling policy environment, coordination and funding mechanisms that are required to establish, expand and sustain CMAM services at scale. Following the CMAM conference, the need to better understand actual costs in-country for CMAM scale-up, as well as financing of CMAM was expressed. The ENN will undertake a detailed review of funding arrangements for CMAM scale up, identifying current obstacles, opportunities and identify key actions in support of optimal CMAM funding arrangements for the future.
