Description and results

Description

This project aims to strengthen the organizational capacity of the Palestinian Authority Security Forces (PASF) in the West Bank. The goal is to increase the PASF’s efficiency in providing security services to Palestinians. Project activities include: (1) enabling centralized vehicle maintenance; (2) providing material to bring emergency response training to an international standard; and (3) making safety upgrades at the small arms safety training facility, including the installation of washrooms reserved for female officers. These activities complement the ongoing institutional capacity-building efforts by Operation PROTEUS, Canada’s contribution to the United States Security Coordinator.

Expected results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) strengthened organizational capacity of the Palestinian Authority Security Forces to provide effective and efficient security forces to Palestinian women and men; and (2) increased efficiency and effectiveness of the Palestinian Authority Security Forces to manage and maintain its assets and facilities.
