Description 

This project aims to support the delivery of multilateral workshops, exercises and planning meetings of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT). Project activities include: (1) providing travel support to facilitate the participation in these events by resource-challenged priority countries; and (2) supporting the development and implementation of GICNT workshops, exercises and tools.

Expected results 

The expected outcome of this project is increased knowledge by stakeholder agencies of Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism member countries of international best practices to prevent, detect and respond to acts of nuclear terrorism.

Results achieved 

Results achieved as of the end of the project (October 2022) include the organization of a nuclear forensics workshop for Central and South American partner countries, in preparation for the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism tabletop exercise “Rogue Tango” hosted by Canada, Argentina and Mexico in March 2020.
