Description

This project aims to strengthen community resilience in Cabo Delgado. It does this by improving access to education services and enhancing the skills of girls and women ages eight to 25 affected by the insurgency in the province. Project activities include: (1) providing literacy courses for women; (2) providing remedial courses for girls and women in and out of schools; and (3) sensitizing community members on safeguarding girls’ rights.

Expected results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased participation of girls and women in gender-sensitive skills training and psychosocial support mechanisms; (2) improved gender-sensitive support mechanisms for the re-entry and reintegration of girls and young women into schools; and (3) greater use of community mechanisms to safeguard the rights and protection of displaced girls and young women.
