Description 

This project aims to reduce threats to Canadians and the international community posed by the proliferation and use of weapons of mass destruction. Project activities include: (1) implementing national capability assessment and training processes in high-priority countries to build nuclear counter-smuggling capabilities; and (2) implementing regional Geiger working groups gathering law enforcement and security service agencies. These groups seek to share information on nuclear and radiological security threats and emerging trends.

Expected results 

The expected outcome of this project includes improved collaboration between the law enforcement and security services communities on the exchange of information, criminal intelligence, lessons learned, and emerging threats and trends related to crimes involving radioactive materials.
