Results achieved

Results achieved as of the end of the project (March 2009) include: A sub-project with South Africa's Agricultural Research Council increased the reliability of rabies test results and decreased the turnaround time for diagnosis from 28 to 5 days, thereby improving service delivery and improving public confidence. Another sub-project with the South African Reserve Bank led to the development of a new model that enabled the Reserve Bank to produce better economic growth forecasts. Through the project, the Bank saved two to three years of development time, improved its credibility with its peers, and is now seen as a pioneer in producing economic growth forecasts in Africa.
