Description

The Rapid Funding Envelope (RFE) for HIV/AIDS in Tanzania II was established in 2002 as a joint initiative of the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS) and ten donors, including CIDA, to facilitate civil society participation in the National Response to HIV/AIDS. The mandate of the RFE is to provide grants to national and international civil society organisations involved in the prevention, care and support, research and impact mitigation of HIV/AIDS in Tanzania. CIDA contributed $500,000 to the first phase of RFE, which ran from 2002 to 2005. This second phase (RFE II) builds on the lessons learned in RFE I and continues to provide grants to civil society organisations throughout Tanzania for short-term projects related to HIV/AIDS.
