Description

This project is a sub-component of the main Rural Capacity Building Project (A032712-001), a joint World Bank-CIDA-Government of Ethiopia initiative to enhance services to Ethiopia's farmers in order to improve agricultural productivity. Improved extension services and research, as well as modernized processes for service delivery, are aimed at increasing agricultural productivity. This, in turn, leads to enhanced household food security and increased household incomes for farmers, thus improving the lives of Ethiopia's poorest while enabling Ethiopia to meet international agricutural standards. CIDA funding within this sub-component is used to engage short- to medium-term consultancies to provide targeted technical assistance or research to support the fulfillment of project results (i.e. for gender of HIV/AIDS mainstreaming), as well as for monitoring and evaluation services.
