Description and results
Description
This project aims to support the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) in implementing plans and projects to rebuild Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake. The mandate of the IHRC is to coordinate the implementation of the Government of Haiti’s Action Plan for National Recovery and Development of Haiti during the 18-month emergency phase - April 2010 to October 2011). The project includes strategic and operational planning for the IHRC; establishing financial and administrative management systems that make it possible to produce expected results in a transparent manner; and identifying, approving, and implementing reconstruction projects. The IHRC consists of a Council and a Secretariat. The Council is co-chaired by the Prime Minister of Haiti and it comprises representatives from key donors, including Canada. The Secretariat comprises the professional resources required to fulfil the IHRC's mandate.
