Description 

This project aims to improve the ability of the Government of Bangladesh to undertake financial, fiduciary and results management of the third phase of the Primary Education Development Program, a five-year education program covering grades one to five, which Canada supports. This improved management capacity enables the Government of Bangladesh to ensure that the funds for the Primary Education Development Program are being used effectively to achieve the intended results: ensuring that girls and boys in all districts of Bangladesh have access to better quality education. Canada also supported phase two of the Primary Education Development Program. Project activities include: providing technical assistance to complete the quarterly and annual fiduciary reviews of the third phase of the Primary Education Development Program, and undertaking other activities to improve the fiduciary and financial management and results monitoring as needed.

Expected results 

The expected intermediate outcomes for this project is: Government of Bangladesh’s public financial management and reporting systems in primary education are strengthened.
