Description 

This project aims to support a Call for Proposals to hire specific child protection expertise on Child and Youth Protection initiatives. The Call aims to support project proposals that work to improve children and youth's well-being in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The specialist contributes specific expertise in child protection programming and a profound understanding of local issues and contexts to allow informed decisions and ensure a strategic and coherent approach to selecting child protection initiatives.

Expected results 

The expected outcome for this project include maximizing the benefits that the initiatives selected through the Call have on vulnerable children and youth in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and ensuring that selected initiatives take into account the sustainability of the intended results.

Results achieved 

Results achieved as of the end of the project (April 2016) include: (1) provided relevant advice on key aspects of a sector strategy for child protection by the specialist; and (2) provided advice on critical elements of proposal design to ensure each project selected through the call for proposal was technically sound and achieve concrete results that benefit vulnerable children and youth in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
