Project activities include: (1) delivering training to law enforcement, customs, nuclear regulators and other stakeholder agencies; and (2) conducting a field exercise at a border crossing point to put into practice and validate learning from the training activities.

Expected results

The expected outcome of this project is increased awareness and preparedness by stakeholder agencies of Ukraine to detect, prevent and investigate security incidents involving nuclear or radiological materials.

Results achieved

Results achieved as of the end of the project (September 2017) include increased knowledge by 32 personnel from 12 Ukrainian stakeholder agencies (including the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, and the State Emergency Service) on the detection, prevention and investigation of security incidents involving nuclear or radiological materials.
