Description

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund) was created to dramatically increase resources to fight three of the world's most devastating diseases (HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria), and to direct those resources to areas of the greatest need. As a partnership between governments, civil society, the private sector and affected communities, the Global Fund represents an innovative approach to international health financing. This funding continues to help the Global Fund contribute towards the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) of slowing and reversing the spread and impact of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. The Global Fund's work is considered a significant contribution to the reduction of infections, illness and death, thereby lessening the impact caused by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in countries in need.
