Description

UNHCR is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. UNHCR strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another state, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country. The Canadian Consultant Management Initiative (CCMI) is part of Canada's contribution to multilateral effectiveness. This fund allows the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to undertake key institutional management projects, designed to have significant and lasting results, and leading to improved effectiveness in the delivery of humanitarian assistance to refugees and persons of concern. The CCMI has provided the opportunity to Canadian consultants and consulting firms to work in the Geneva-based multilateral system.
