Description

October 6, 2009 - Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines on September 26, causing massive destruction and flooding in Manila and other areas. As of October 6, an estimated 3.9 million people have been affected, while 295 are dead and 39 missing. This project allows Save the Children Canada to support children and their families in four severely hit municipalities in the Province of Rizal for a period of two months. Save the Children Canada is providing essential non-food items (tarpaulins, mosquito nets, blankets, cooking household items, etc.) and hygiene kits to 6,135 families to complement the food items distributed by the local government and other non-governmental organizations.
