Description

October 6, 2009 - Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines on September 26, causing massive destruction and flooding in Manila and other areas. As of October 6, an estimated 3.9 million people have been affected, while 295 are dead and 39 missing. This project allows Oxfam Quebec to implement a six-month project to relieve the suffering of women, men and children affected by Typhoon Ketsana and support their recovery and rehabilitation. More specifically, this project focuses on the provision of clean drinking water by trucking in water, the repairing and rehabilitation of existing water sources, and the distribution of household water storage devices. It also provides temporary latrines for affected families.
