Description

CIDA is supporting two components of the Feinstein International Center's (FIC) current research program: Researching and Engaging in Humanitarian Reform and Conflict/Post-Conflict Issues and Understanding Humanitarian Needs in Urban Environments. The FIC intends to research current debates on humanitarian reform through the following activities: Humanitarianism and Politics; Challenges and Opportunities; and a continuation of research in Nepal and Sri Lanka. It plans to shed light on the impact on urban environments of humanitarian actors, and the policy and operational challenges that confront aid agencies when responding to the needs of urban IDPs and refugees. CIDA's support to these research projects is enabling the FIC to continue its work in developing the knowledge, tools and policies which allow humanitarian agencies, donors and affected governments to perform with greater effectiveness and efficiency in today's crisis environments.
