Description

In 2007, OCHA established the ACE project, a research and development project with the overall goal to improve humanitarian action and accountability by strengthening the evidence-base for humanitarian decision-making. This is done through a dual-track approach seeking to: harmonize needs assessment within clusters and efficiently coordinate needs assessment across clusters; and consolidate and present core humanitarian information in a consistent and accessible manner at the multi-sectoral level. The ACE Project contributes to facilitating collaboration and agreement on multi-sectoral approaches to needs assessment and analysis at the field, regional and/or global level. Furthermore, the project activities include the development and field testing of the Humanitarian Dashboard, which consolidates core and common humanitarian information at the multi-sectoral level, providing an at-a-glance graphic overview of key issues such as needs, access, funding, and to support humanitarian decision-makers.
