Description

With CIDA support, Médecins du Monde is addressing the basic needs of people affected by armed conflict in four municipalities of Meta Department, Colombia. Project activities include: the establishment of 11 emergency mobile health clinics in four intervention sites to cover emergency medical care for 5,000 conflict-affected people; training on basic health issues, their management and treatment; psychosocial support to 900 conflict-affected people; and training for 90 community leaders on the prevention of conflict.

Expected results

Expected outputs include: improved primary medical care and psychological support for targeted populations, increased vaccinations against common preventable diseases; training to reduce threats to personal security; and the provision of protection services, guaranteed by international law, for those affected by violence and displacement. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people, especially women and children.
