Description 

The project aims to promote peace, security, pluralism, and equality in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan by supporting grassroots women organizations. The project provides small grants to these organizations, as well as mentoring and training. Activities include: (1) training and production of teaching tools for a more effective inclusion of gender perspectives and women peace builders in peace processes; (2) technical support in monitoring and evaluation and financial management, and strategic advice; and (3) ongoing accompaniment to encourage innovation and adoption of good practices.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased sustainable political and societal institutions and peace processes that are anchored in inclusion and commitment to nonviolent conflict transformation; (2) deepened influence to prevent conflict and promote peace, rights, equality and pluralism among women led civil society; and (3) increased cross-sectoral collaboration on gender approaches and more systematic inclusion of women peace builders in peace and mediation processes.

Results achieved 

Activities were completed aimed to increase peace and stability in conflict-affected states.
