This project contributes to a more integrated, prosperous and inclusive Africa. It supports key African Union Commission strategies, including for gender equality and women's empowerment. Project activities include: (1) developing robust administrative policies and financial management practices; (2) mainstreaming a gender perspective across the African Union Commission’s programming; (3) supporting continental campaigns, advocacy efforts and capacity-building programs to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment; and (4) implementing the United Nations Security Council’s resolution on women, peace and security.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved management and service delivery capacities of the African Union Commission; (2) advanced gender equality and women’s empowerment to reduce poverty in Africa; and (3) increased involvement of women in peacebuilding, early warning and mediation efforts in Africa.
