Description 

This project supports the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) Border Guard Force operations on the northern border of Jordan. It does so to rapidly respond to potential border incursions, smuggling activity, or any security incident. Project activities include: (1) conducting technical assessments; (2) developing detailed road design and undertaking Environment impact assessment; and (3) constructing and rehabilitating roads.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved JAF effectiveness in responding to security incidents along Jordan’s northern border with Syria; (2) improved JAF engagement with communities along Jordan’s northern border with Syria; and (3) improved JAF ability to respond to security incidents along Jordan’s northern border with Syria.

Results achieved 

Result achieved as of end of the project (November 2020) includes : built 63 kilometers of military access road along Jordan’s northern border with Syria.
