Description

This project supports the enhanced empowerment of 6,000 young people, including 3,600 young women, in Guyana’s most remote and hardest-to-reach regions. It provides them with opportunities to be more engaged and involved in their communities, to improve and diversify their economic livelihood options, and to participate more actively and meaningfully in decision-making.

Expected results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased equitable engagement of indigenous and rural youth, especially young women, in personal, household and community decision-making; and (2) strengthened the effectiveness of local, regional and national authorities and other key actors in the delivery of sustainable programs that respond to the needs and aspirations of indigenous and rural youth.
