This project aims to fund Earth Observation (EO) technology and data collection for use by developing countries, primarily coastal and Small Islands Developing States (SIDS), regional organizations, and other partners to pursue climate change adaptation and resiliency to extreme weather events. By improving the availability of EO technology and data, it is hoped that the world’s poorest and most vulnerable regions will develop country- driven solutions to the varied local effects of climate change.

Expected results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased literacy and use of tools and technologies associated with satellite EO; and (2) enhanced resilience of developing countries, particularly SIDS, to deal with natural disasters and extreme weather as a result of climate change.
