Description

This project aims to support the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) Secretariat’s Sponsorship Programme. This program promotes the participation of delegates from official development assistance (ODA) countries, small island states and other States Parties in need of support that are not on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Development Assistance Committee list.

Expected results

The expected result for this project is the increased and more representative participation of experts from States Parties, or select countries seeking to become a State Party, in Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) discourse and decision-making meetings.

Results achieved

Results achieved as of the end of the project (December 2021) by the Arms Trade Treaty Secretariat through the support of the Government of Canada and other international donors include the funding of 23 delegates (of whom six are women) to participate in a series of working group meetings at the initial Conference of States Parties 6 Informal Preparatory Meeting held in February 2020.
