This project aims to strengthen Jordan's capacity to detect and prevent illicit trafficking of nuclear or radiological materials at an airport facility in Jordan. Project activities include: (1) supplying handheld radiation detection and identification equipment for use at the site; and (2) delivering related operational and maintenance training to personnel of Jordan’s Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission.

The expected outcome of this project is reduced illicit trafficking of nuclear and radiological materials after effective operation and maintenance of radiation detection and identification equipment.
