Description 

The project aims to support the West Bank Protection Consortium, a strategic partnership of 5 humanitarian non-governmental organizations and their 13 likeminded donors, including Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union (EU) and other EU countries. The consortium acts as one of the key first responders in the West Bank helping Palestinians who are the victims of settler violence, evictions, demolitions, or military operations. This project supports emergency preparedness and response, resilience-building, and advocacy for Palestinians who have been - or are at risk of being - forcibly transferred.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) promoted emergency preparedness and prevention; (2) delivered emergency response by providing cash, in-kind assistance, service referrals and short-term livelihood support to farmers; (3) provided mental health and psychosocial support awareness-raising and capacity-building; (4) supported basic social infrastructure; (5) implemented a community-based protection approach for community engagement, monitoring and empowerment; (6) provided of legal aid services to persons and communities of concern; (7) carried out legal interventions to secure precedents on cases affecting entire communities or challenging policies that affect the broader Palestinian population; (8) raised awareness of serious violations of international law that drive humanitarian needs and protection risks; and, (9) mobilized and engaged third parties and duty-bearers to provide immediate protection and support to vulnerable communities, and to take measures that promote accountability and compliance with international law.
