Description

This project aims to support the most climate vulnerable developing countries, including Pacific Small Island Developing States, in building their capacity to structure and secure public and private finance for priority climate mitigation and adaptation investments. Although Small Island Developing States make negligible contributions to global greenhouse gas emissions rates, they find themselves on the frontline in the fight against climate change and are the most vulnerable to its impacts.

Expected results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved efficiency and coordination of the implementation of global climate finance initiatives in developing countries, including Pacific Small Island Developing States; (2) expanded pipeline of climate adaptation and mitigation projects in developing countries, including Pacific Small Island Developing States; and (3) improved integration of gender considerations into climate finance project proposals in developing countries, including Pacific Small Island Developing States.
