Description 

With the support of GAC, Development and Peace is helping to improve the ability of migrants and refugees to meet their basic needs, access safe and appropriate housing, and improve their knowledge of the process for legalizing their migration status and preventing migration-related risks in the areas of Norte de Santander, Valle del Cauca and Vichada in Colombia. Project activities include the following: (1) providing unconditional multi use money transfers to vulnerable Venezuelan migrants to meet their basic needs; (2) providing free, safe and appropriate housing services to vulnerable Venezuelan migrants; (3) providing hygiene and dignity kits to Venezuelan refugees and migrants in shelters; and (4) offering psychological and legal counselling to vulnerable Venezuelan migrants.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes for this project include the following: (1) improved access to assistance for vulnerable Venezuelan migrants in order to meet their basic human needs; and (2) improved access among vulnerable Venezuelan migrants to fundamental human rights related to health and protection.
