Description

This project aims to provide financial and non-financial intermediaries with catalytic capital to grow their lending to impact-oriented agricultural small- and medium-sized enterprises (Agri-SME) across Africa. The Agri-Food SME Catalytic Financing Mechanism (ACFM) is seeking to design a package of innovative financial products to catalyze private sector investment for Agri-SMEs that contribute to making Agri-food systems healthy, equitable, climate-resilient and sustainable. The ACFM will provide concessional loans to eligible financial and non-financial intermediaries to support the financial needs of Agri-SMEs and ensure impact.

Expected results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) Increased financial access for underserved gender-oriented and climate-resilient Agri-SMEs in Africa; (2) Increased productivity and growth of gender-oriented and climate-resilient Agri-SMEs in Africa; and (3) Increased gender equality along Agri-food value chains.
