Description 

This project aims to increase economic opportunities for men and women that graduate from Technical and Vocational (TVET) Colleges in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo. It also seeks to strengthen the capacity of 15 TVET colleges in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo Provinces. Project activities include: (1) strengthening and adapting curriculum for blended and online learning; (2) enhancing work-integrated learning opportunities; (3) strengthening career guidance provided to students; and (4) implementing gender-based violence programs in the colleges. The project aims to directly reach 375 college staff members band lecturers, 50 local businesses, and 10 officials from the South African Department of Higher Learning. It also seeks to indirectly reach the 150,000 students enrolled in the 15 TVET colleges, receiving support from the project.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved delivery of gender-responsive and inclusive training in TVET colleges in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo; and (2) increased access to student support and career transition services in TVET colleges in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo, especially for women and at-risk learners.
