Description

This project enables funding under the global Displacement Tracking Matrix support team to advance International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Internal Displacement Data Strategy strategic priorities, particularly in relation to Pillar 1 assistance and protection data, 3 data coordination and 4 use and accountability. With GAC’s support, IOM is able to enhance their Displacement Tracking Matrix that aims to support the improvement of humanitarian action by strengthening the accountability, transparency and effectiveness of humanitarian responses.

Expected results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased collection, analysis, management and production of data and information on internal displacement across complex contexts worldwide which informs humanitarian response plans, as well as other strategic response plans; (2) improved ability for humanitarian partners to more effectively meet the needs of populations affected by humanitarian crises; and (3) improved capacity for donors to better prioritize their resources to reach those most in need. The expected ultimate outcome is lives saved, suffering alleviated and human dignity maintained in countries experiencing humanitarian crises or acute food insecurity.
