Description 

This project supports reviewing, drafting, and implementing the Ghana armed forces gender policy to continue the results from Ghana's measuring the opportunities for women in peace operations barrier assessment. It also seeks to address recruitment issues and support delivering key training, such as the UN staff officers course and military observers course for women, and the training of trainer workshops on gender with the Canadian department of national defense.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) strengthened awareness of gender in the Ghana armed forces; (2) increased institutional capacity to mainstream gender throughout the Ghana armed forces; and (3) strengthened peacekeeping capacity of the Ghana armed forces.
