Description

February 2022 - The ongoing crisis in Syria continues to be a driver of displacement and humanitarian needs throughout the country. Over eleven years into the conflict, an estimated 14 million people remain in need of urgent humanitarian assistance inside of Syria. Years of active conflict and displacement have exacerbated protection risks and increased vulnerability for millions. Humanitarian access to those most in need remains a significant challenge. With GAC’s support, this project provides quality health care services to up to 30,000 persons. Project activities include: (1) providing basic health care services including sexual and reproductive health care; (2) increasing access to a referral system and follow-up consultations; (3) providing lifesaving medication; and (4) increasing knowledge of key health practices for women, men, girls and boys.

Expected results

The expected outcome for this project is improved access to quality basic health services for vulnerable women, men, girls and boys. The expected ultimate outcome is lives saved, suffering alleviated and human dignity maintained in countries experiencing humanitarian crises or acute food insecurity.
