Description 

This project aims to empower Afghan women to become leaders and drive change for Afghanistan's future, by giving them access to university education and services that are no longer available to women inside Afghanistan. Project activities include: (1) providing Afghan women with a safe and conducive learning environment at the Asian University for Women campus in Bangladesh; (2) facilitating access to internationally recognized university level education programs; and (3) promoting community engagement and career development through access to leadership and life skills programs.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased Afghan women’s ability to apply academic level learning in their careers and lives; and (2) increased representation and leadership by Afghan women in community and career development initiatives.

Results achieved 

Results achieved as of March 2025 include: (1) supported the enrolment and participation of Afghan women in the Asian University for Women’s academic program, ensuring tuition, room and board, and other support services that help them achieve a recognized university degree; and (2) supported the participation of Afghan women in 93 distinct campus activities relating to community engagement and career development.
