Description

This project aims to enhance economic empowerment and increase prosperity for low-income women and youth, particularly female youth, in the West Bank. The project seeks to achieve this by adopting a gender transformative approach to recognise, formalise, and amplify women and youth's existing roles in the agricultural and renewable energy sectors. Project activities include: (1) conducting policy advocacy initiatives to address policy barriers to women and youth's entrepreneurship; (2) providing entrepreneurship and business management training opportunities for women and youth; (3) assisting established MSMEs in expending their operations, accessing markets and adopting green business models; and (4) empowering renewable energy and energy efficiency engineers by providing career advancement opportunities and preparing them for leadership roles.

Expected results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased access to a supportive environment and opportunities for women and youth-led MSMEs; and (2) increased economic participation of women and youth in the agrobusiness and renewable energy sectors.
