Description 

May 2024 - The ODI Humanitarian Policy Group is a leader in humanitarian research organizations. Their work is grounded in deep field research spanning a range of countries and emergencies. Through this project, HPG aims to produce sector-specific research and advocacy focusing on important issues and challenges within the humanitarian sector, while also drawing out systemic and strategic implications and recommendations to improve overall humanitarian response. Project activities include: (1) designing the research approach and methodology through a comprehensive scoping and refining process; (2) producing and publishing in-depth research through literature reviews and case studies in partnership with key actors; and (3) developing final reports, recommendations and communicating findings through policy engagement with key programme and policy actors.

Expected results 

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved humanitarian policy and practice through a combination of high-quality analysis, dialogue and debate; (2) ensured contributions to humanitarian aid is as responsive and relevant as possible; (3) strengthened impact and influence for change through research on evidence gaps and strategic partnerships; and (4) improved support of local leadership and equitable engagement in humanitarian policy.
