Description

This initiative aims to support the Palestinian Authority and related administrative structures in advancing access to information and public consultations, while improving the efficiency of public service delivery. It also aims to ensure that gender perspectives are integrated into decision-making, access to information and service provision. These goals are pursued through a combination of technical assistance and capacity-building efforts and ultimately aim to foster greater public trust in the Palestinian Authority. Project activities include: (1) evaluating the current environment for access to information; (2) reviewing regulations to identify administrative procedures that can be simplified or digitalized; (3) providing technical support to foster an enabling environment for access to information and public consultations, including supporting the development of an online consultation platform; (4) training government officials, service providers, and legal professionals through dedicated workshops and seminars; (5) engaging civil society organizations and other stakeholders to promote collaboration, advocacy, and accountability; and (6) hosting policy dialogues and forums where Palestinian policymakers, experts, and international partners can exchange ideas and share best practices.

Expected results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) greater government transparency and accountability; (2) more efficient public services that better respond to citizens' needs; and (3) reduced barriers for women in accessing information and participating in decision-making.
