Description 

The Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program (CFSP) is a scholarship program designed to build institutional capacities by training nationals of 37 developing countries of La Francophonie. The CFSP’s objectives are to increase opportunities for higher education for nationals of developing countries of La Francophonie, to help build institutional capacities and to strengthen Canada’s ties to these countries.

Results achieved 

For phase V of the CFSP and based on data collected from 2010 to 2014, the achieved results as of December 2014 are as follows: i) In total, 483 scholars came to study in Canada, 42.7% of which were women; ii) The average success rate among scholars was 83.4% - 78.3% for women and 87.4% for men; iii) The average return rate among scholars was 94.3% - 93.6% for women and 94.9% for men; iv) The average reinsertion rate among scholars was 88.4% - 83.7% for women and 92.1% for men; v) Institutional partnerships were maintained with the 22 universities and 10 colleges in Canada that participate in the program, and with 36 universities, 4 colleges, 50 ministries and 4 other organizations in recipient countries.
